The GUCCI BOYS were in town yesterday, strutting their stuff, a little bit of left hip thrust ,a twirl here, a pirouette there, wearing cool, scarlet, short-sleeved quality cotton hip-length shirts with magnificent dragon motifs front and back and creative Chinese characters on the shirt cuffs. The GUCCI'S could be around for a couple of days yet, so make sure you set eyes on them girls. These guys are cute, even if they are a little bumble-footed at times.
The new Year 4, but as yet unidentified, teacher looks good, with a hint of half-macho, with his new avant garde style face mask makeover in a classic, but touch-of-chic, Papuan, batik print seen here recently on the Versace catwalk in Milan earlier this week.
Lots of people turned up and had fun on Kartini Day, but some people can't resist the opportunity to sell something - like this character here selling TEETH!
Well, homework was never easier than this! Never!. Year4 I, for you guys it's even easier, because you just wait until tomorrow. (You need a lesson first). 4V, you know what to do, you focused on RED today and you only have to bring something connected toREDtomorrow - an article of clothing, an accessory, anything to help us puttogether a mock EXPOSE.
This will take a few days to complete, so don't bring anything that you desperately want to wear on Saturday night! As I said, homework was easy last week, but this week it breaks all easy records!
BK! It's taken some time and a lot of hard work, but you know me, I never stop trying for someone I like. So, finally, after months of research, expense andinterviewing thousands of wannabees, I think we have the woman of your dreams.
Year 4 wish you every happiness as long as you both shall live.
Cindy, I'm very sorry that I broke your arm today, but I didn't mean to hurt you. I hope you get better soon and we're going to miss you. I hope you can come in and see us.
You're ten years old. It's after midnight. You can't sleep. Something's in the corner, staring. You roll over, but it's too dangerous. It might get you! You want to call out, "Mommy!", but you're too old now.
This is just to say how impressed I was with your work on Friday. I still don't know how many words and expressions we got, but it was definitely a lot. The photos and print outs were very useful. Once again, well done all 4 V. Phil
Each group in both classes will be given a research assignment for "Unit 6 Fashion." The teacher will inform you.
Research details are in the following four areas:-
Make-up /cosmetics
coiffure (hair creations)
accessories
footwear
Check out mom's old magazines for interesting photos and articles related to your group study. You should check the Net as well, if you can. If you get onto the Net, run a search on the history in your assigned research topic. You don't have to go back along way in history. It's up to you and whatever you come across. Bring your findings to school on Thursday. Good luck with you search and let's hope you find some fascinating stuff.
Well done everybody in 4V. Yesterday was quite unique - the first time we've ever filmed our own drama and the teachers could see just how much thinking you all had to do in terms of voice and stage awareness. We know that you will benefit lot from these experiences in the future. Now we can look forward to viewing the videos on Thursday. Phil
The Ming dynasty was the 3rd Chinese dynasty and the emperors wanted to be successful and knowledgeable, just like the first dynasty 200 years before Christ. They started the Great Wall and they wanted China stronger and better organized.
Zhu Di was the second emperor of the Ming dynasty. He repaired and extended the Great Wall. His father had kicked the Mongols out.
Zhu Di was very ambitious and proud of his heritage and the knowledge of sciences that the Chinese had collected for thousands of years about astronomy, metallurgy, medicine, and many other things, and he was curious to find out about the world and to do business with foreigners. He spent a lot of money moving the capital city from Nanjing to Beijing, building a bigger army, the Grand Canal for irrigation of the rice fields and building the Great Wall as well as the Forbidden City.
He also built the biggest fleet of ships ever to explore the world and to do business with countries like Indonesia, India, Burma, Arabia and African countries as well.
The business was usually done peacefully and many ambassadors of different countries travelled to China to pay respect to the emperor.
In the end, Zhu Di got old and had spent too much money and after he died, China was closed to foreigners and business with them stopped completely.
All the voyages of Zheng He over more than 20 years were forgotten about because it was thought to be embarrassing, but actually Zheng He and his other admirals had travelled the whole world and discovered America long before Christopher Columbus.
Written by Ricky Albert (Einstein) April 2008 (as representative of lots of very good note-taking skills in Year 4)
This was part of our note taking work to help us prepare for the future when we will have to be good (even expert )at taking notes and reporting.

Sing this song with me! I will follow Him Follow Him wherever He may go, And near Him, I always will be For nothing can keep me away, He is my destiny.
I will follow Him, Ever since He touched my heart I knew, There isn't an ocean too deep, A mountain so high it can keep, Keep me away, away from His love.
I love Him, I love Him, I love Him, And where He goes, I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow. he'll always be my true love, my true love, my true love from now until forever, forever, forever
I will follow Him, Follow Him wherever He may go, There isn't an ocean too deep, A mountain so high it can keep, Keep me away, away from His love...
We will follow Him, Follow Him wherever He may go, There isn't an ocean too deep, A mountain so high it can keep, Keep us away, away from His love...
I love Him (Oh yes I love Him) I'll follow (I'm gonna follow) True love (He'll always be my true, true love) Forever (Now until forever)
I love Him, I love Him, I love Him, And where He goes I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow, He'll always be my true love, My true love, my true love, From now intil forever, Forever, forever...
There isn't an oocean too deep A mountain so high it can keep Keep me away, away from His love
