ANCIENT ROME

Rome was a big empire in Europe. They started about 3000 years ago. The senate contolled the economy. (Delson)

They recruited armies and they built new war strategies and they battled over a vast area. (Andre)

They set up a government that ruled the people and they started the Roman Catholic religion. (Darren)

Julius Caesar was the emperor who got the idea of gladiators and he built the Colliseum in Rome. (Cindy)

They learned lots from other civilizations. They set up the alphabet and numbers. They spoke Latin and they also invented ceramics and made bridges, concrete and roads.(Wynne)
