Being Determined

Jackie's Dream

Jackie was a really good singer. He had a really great voice. But one day, he thought of being a basketball player. he imagined and he imagined until he he realized that he loved basketball.

He stopped his singing career and he started basketball, seriously. He tried out for the basketball team. The coach came up to him and said, "Jackie, look, you don't have the talent for basketball."

His dream was over, ruined, destroyed. But, he didn't want to give up - not just yet. He practiced and he practiced. He got better and he could play well . His parents were really proud of him.

His was enjoying his game. he was getting nuts, crazy about basketball. He still practiced every day. In fact, he began practicing even more than before, a lot, everyday, so that he could be a champion player.

His talent was really being determined.

James, what I like about this story is that it has some natural "feeling", as if you, as the writer, have personally experienced how it feels to try hard to be good at something.
This shows just how you are growing up and getting comfortable about your own self expression.
I, (and I know that the other teachers will be too) am proud of you.
Great stuff!
